NU'EST 「NU'EST The First Album『Re:BIRTH』Launch SHOWCASE」

While counting down for their major debut in Japan, NU'EST on July 9 revealed the sound and music video for their 1^st album in Korea, "Re:BIRTH," and made a splendid comeback to Korea's music program!

On the same day, NU'EST hosted「NU'EST The First Album『Rye BIRTH』Launch SHOWCASE」, inviting 70 fans from music site Melon members and 110 fans from Korea's NU'EST official fan club members. The event was held at yes24 Move Hall in Honde, Seoul. KpopStarz was also invited, and here is our report from the heated site.

NU'EST members performed five songs - "Judgment," "Lend Me Your Shoulders," "Love Without Love," "Good Bye Bye," "Hey, Love" - from their new album "Re:BIRTH" in front of fans.  

Around two years since their debut, NU'EST's first album includes the growth and transformation of all the NU'EST members, as described in its title "Re:BIRTH." Beginning with the title song "Good Bye Bye," the album contains all of their 7 new songs, as well as their 4 hit songs including NU'EST debut song "FACE", "Action" and "HELLO".   

Showcase kicked off with an opening clip with members' introduction, followed by the new titles "Judgment" and "Lend Me Your Shoulders." "Judgment" represents the album most vividly. It is the very Re:BIRTH of the NU'EST transformed into strong masculine image. "Lend Me Your Shoulders" (feat. Kye Bum Zu) was worked on by NU'EST JR and Kye Bum Zu, who became good friends through the second mini album's song "The Girl Next Door."    

After performing the two songs, members greeted fans, saying,

"Hello, we are NU'EST! Thank you for coming to our showcase. We returned with a full album after 10 months since the last album "Sleep Talking." Everyone, we are so thankful that you came to our showcase!"

They went on to introduce themselves. Ren, who had cut his long hair, shared his determination, saying,

"Since our debut, this is my first time to have a haircut. I want to newly start from this point!"

Members asked the fans questions such as, "Did you listen to the music and MV?" "Which song do you like the most? Is it the title song?" The five members were constantly smiling as they received answers from fans.    

Then again they performed the new titles. They mesmerized the audience with sexy expressions in "Love Without Love," then moved onto the lead song "Good Bye Bye." "Good Bye Bye" was a new challenge for NU'EST. Their sharp dance performance overwhelmed the audience. The song depicts the man who suffers after the beloved woman left and almost loses himself in the struggle, but says goodbye to the past self, and newly faces his life alone, even without her. MV contains a series of heart-aching scenes and mentally striking images. Fans who saw this MV were both delighted with the grownup image of members, and also curious about what this song means.       

After performing "Good Bye Bye," NU'EST members were seemingly relieved. In the latter half of the showcase, what waited the relaxed members were Q&A with fans.

◆What memories do you want to make together with fans?

MinHyun: One day I want to have a concert at a big stage in a huge stadium, and after the concert, stand together with fans and cry.   

◆How do you comfort fans who are suffering?

JR: If there are such fans, I want to stay next to them and comfort them.

◆What's your promise if the best moment for NU'EST, which is to win No.1 in a music program, comes true?

JR: I want to go to an overnight, two-day trip together with fans!   

Who among the main characters of fairy tales, like Little Mermaid or Cinderella, is your ideal type of woman? 

ARON: Mulan is close to my ideal type. She is very similar with me, and has many charms.

◆Which artists do you want to work with?

NU'EST: Orange Caramel, Son Dam-bi etc.

◆If you can be reborn, what would you want to do?

MinHyun: I want to become a woman. If I am reborn as a woman, I want to be NU'EST fan! (Laugh)

JR: If I was to be born again, I want to become an animal. I want to be born as a whale. I am bad at swimming, so I want to become a whale and observe the microbe in the deep ocean.

Ren: Even if I am born again, I want to be "Ren." Because fans are everything to me.

Aron: I want to enjoy campus life in college. In other words, I want to be born again as a college student! (Laugh)  

Baekho: I want to be born in America. Because Aron is not cool when he talks in Korean, but when he talks in English, he looks really cool. (Laugh) So I also want to talk in English like Aron. That would be cool, I think. 

After the talk, they moved onto the 5^th song of the showcase, "HELLO," the second album's title song which they had not performed in a while.    

Fans cheered and sang together with the members. 

Encore was the new title "Hey, Love." This sweet and happy song is a bonus track for fans. Members' cute performance got the fans excited, concluding the showcase. 

Kicking off with this showcase, NU'EST plans to actively work and visit music programs like KBS "Music Bank," MBC "Show! Music Core," and SBS "Music Trend."   

On July 30, they will finally make a major debut in Japan with album "NU'EST BEST IN KOREA."
