f(x) Member Update: YouTube Reacts To 'Red Light' + Bible Controversy

Since releasing their latest single "Red Light" and its shocking music video, the ladies of f(x) have been all over the headlines.

f(x)'s "Red Light" was released on July 7th and topped major music charts in South Korea and globally. Their single ranked number one on the iTunes charts of Hong Kong and Singapore on July 9th. Including this, f(x) ranked on the "Top 100" on iTunes charts in twenty-three countries. This includes Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Poland, Japan, Peru and more. Also, their single ranked number one on a total of eight music chart in South Korea; which were Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs, Genie, Naver Music, Daum Music and Soribada, according to Yahoo Celebrity Philippines.

The accompanying album, "Red Light," contains a total of twelve songs. The contributors to their album were Teddy Riley, Thomas Troelsen, Kenzie, and hitchhiker. f(x) mixed different sounds to their new single because it features an urban house beat rhythm; which their single is on the electronic house genre category.

The girls explained about how their music is considered different compared to the other music tracks in South Korea and said, "We think we were invited because the kind of music we do is rare. Not only in Korea but all over the world. The best thing about our group is that we are multinational and we can speak multiple languages."

In the music video for "Red Light," there is one scene in particular that has fans scratching their heads.  One of the members, Krystal, is shown burning a book, and may speculate it may be a bible.  As outrage ensues, others have come to the defense of the group and assert that it is a phone book.

While the video has received more then four million views on YouTube so far, perhaps more interesting and insightful commentary has come directly from fans.  There have already been a wide range of comments about the book burning scene.

One person named KellyKosmetic wrote, "How dare you burn the Bible with pride. Watch all of you burn in hell for eternity! Devil worshippers!"

Another wrote that it is not a phone book; which Cyrille Ho wrote on July 4th, "How do know that is the Bible? It is a phone book. Did you see there is a telephone that is ringing in the beginning of the video?"

On July 1st, Vince tweeted, "Okay, the book that is burning on the music video teaser isn't the Bible so stop spreading that f(x) is Illuminati."

There has been numerous supportive messages regarding f(x)'s new single "Red Light" as well. When the music video was released, it received over one million views, over 77,000 likes, and 12,000 comments.

Victoria Tori commented on YouTube, "This is the first f(x) song that I like, good job." Another person named Aveen Sdiq added on July 3rd, "Good job. Powerful combination of sounds. Great production. Finally, it got one million [views] in 10 hours."

On July 8th, an article was published on Billboard's K-pop column; which explained the transformation the members made for the comeback. "Last July, f(x) dropped new single 'Rum Pum Pum Pum' - a mix of samba, funk and yuletide carols that (somehow brilliantly) blended to give the girl group its first No. 1 on the K-pop Hot 100," wrote the music magazine.

Jeff Benjamin explained the good and bad regarding f(x)'s new single titled, "Red Light." Jeff stated, "A zippy, phat bass line, ticking clock, snare drums and stadium-sized clapping open 'Red Light' featuring members Krystal and Sulli's confident coos. By the 22-second mark a hip-hop bass drop is added, at 0:37 the track is growing into an epic EDM buildup until the chorus hits at 0:52, turning the song into a hyperactive, synth-pop banger."

He further explained, "The track continues in a similar, jerky fashion, adding vocal layers, hair-raising harmonies and ad-libs to the addictive melodies at will. While it'd be tough to not label the bubbly-gummy hooks as pop, the aural twists and turns give the track an exciting, exploratory element, forcing the listener to listen again to catch the different parts."

On July 8th, f(x) members Luna and Victoria visited 'Jessica&Krystal's' house. Krystal, Luna, and Victoria enjoyed shaved ice and red beans; which there was also beef and vegetables prepared by Jessica. While they were eating, the girls talked about what they thought when they first met each other; which Victoria said, "I think about what other girls my age do these days. I wonder what I would have done if I didn't become a singer."
