Wassup has gone beyond being known as the only K-pop group to twerk.

The rookie group will be the first girl group to hold a solo concert in South America this fall.

Wassup is scheduled to hold their concert in Brazil this September before making a comeback in Korea. Their debut in South America is quite an accomplishment for a group that only entered the K-pop scene last year.

The seven-member hip-hop girl group was created by Sony Music Korea and Mafia Record and shot to the top of the Korean music industry with their unique ability to twerk. The girls had trained for their debut for three years before they dominated the scene with their impressive dance skills, according to the publication Allkpop.

Wassup currently consists of members Jinju, Sujin, Nada, Nari, Jiae, Woojoo and Dain. The members range from ages 17 to 24 with Woojoo as the youngest, or maknae, of the group.

The group released their music video for their single "WASSUP" on August 7 and performed for the first time on the music program, "Show Champion." Wassup's use of twerking for their debut gained international attention, with the group being featured on the Huffington Post.

However, to the girls dismay, the members reportedly had to tone down their performance due to the strict regulations of the music programs that air on major channels in Korea.

Soon after the group released their official YouTube channel and created a mainstream fan base for themselves with their hit "Hotter Than Summer," the hip hop team released their first mini-album titled "NOM NOM NOM" along with a music video.

Since the beginning, Wassup has strived to be different, and it seems like they will continue to be to fulfill their goal of spreading Korean hip hop.

"Wassup will differentiate from other girl groups with their eye-catching concept. They will aim to spread hip hop music through their various activities," Sony Music Korea had stated.
