U.S. Billboard Praises Girls' Day New Song, 'Darling' To Be The Perfect Summer Song

Girl's Day is starting the summer off strong with their new track, "Darling."

The music video for the pop song has been gaining international attention, with music publications taking note of the both sexy and adorable concept the girls chose to go for.

Last year, Girl's Day decided to go sexy, pivoting from the cute image they debuted with. Evident from the release of "Darling," the idol members have no problem merging the two images together.

"The song's lyrics are about as sweet as sweet can get with the girls playing naïve girlfriends unsure how to express themselves to a lover. They attempt with cute references to nature and candy, but not forgoing a bit of sex appeal, the quartet added that they do get 'hot' from their new relationship," writes Billboard.

The music magazine adds, "'Darling' incorporates a modern, jazz-pop sound that blends peppy piano, shimmering strings and brassy horns blasts. The happy-go-lucky, doo-wop sound could easily soundtrack a sunshine-filled day at the beach or pool making the mid-summer release timing rather perfect."

The publication Pop Dust also published an article praising the "sweet sunniness" of Girl's Day's new song and music video.

The rising popularity of the four-member K-pop group is just beginning.

The girls held their first solo concert, "GIRL'S DAY SUMMER PARTY," this weekend at AX Korea in Seoul, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore. This is the group's first solo concert four years after debuting.

"We never expected to see this many people here. To be honest, I almost forgot my part while singing 'Expect,' because I was so surprised to see this many people," stated member So Jin.

Girl's Day donated all of the profits made from the concert to Plan Korea, an organization that the members are currently ambassadors for.

"Our concert got much more meaningful. This concert is not only a very exciting event, but also a very thankful event. Thank you so much for sharing your time with us," Min Ah and So Jin told fans.
