Daesung is proving to fans and music critics that he can fly solo successfully.

The Big Bang member's new album, "D'Slove" topped the Oricon Album Daily Chart in Japan today, selling 30,099 copies on the first day of its release.

Daesung posted a picture of himself with a cake and Tupperware full of watermelon to celebrate the success of his latest album.

"Because of you all, my album ranked No. 1 on the Oricon daily album chart," tweeted Daesung via YGEX (YG Entertainment and AVEX) along with the photo.

 This is the first time the idol member ranked No. 1 on the Oricon chart. Last year, Daesung's first Japanese solo album, "D'scover," ranked No. 2 on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

"D'Slove" includes the tracks "Rainy Rainy," "Feelings Deepened," "SHUT UP," "Two People?  ALone!!" "Dress," "Try Smiling," "Awake, Asleep," "Even When the World Ends," Look At Me, Gwisun," and "I Love You," according to Allkpop.

Daesung will continue solo arena tour on July 17 and 18 in Budokan as he continues to promote his recent album.

Daesung has been following the solo success of fellow Big Bang member Taeyang, who has been gaining international attention for his recent solo album "Rise" as well as for his single "Eyes, Nose, Lips."

Although fans are beyond ecstatic to know that each member is making their own mark in the music industry, the success of their solo careers brings attention to the fact that it's been more than two years since the members released music as a group.

It seems that fans won't have to wait too much longer.

"We would like to tell you that we are working very hard on our new album these days," the K-pop group told MSN Entertainment XIN in March.

Members Taeyang and G-Dragon's bromance has also caught the attention of fans and those in the music industry as of late.

"Since we've been friends for many years, I think, GD is like another brother of mine in my own family. And, as we also belong to this one team called BIGBANG and accomplish many great things as musicians together, I think, we definitely established a good rapport," explained Taeyang.
