INFINITE's Sungjong Opens Instagram Account As Fans Show Support Worldwide

The youngest member of INFINITE opened up an Instagram account ahead of the group's Tokyo concert.

INFINITE held the Dilemma Tour Encore -24 Hours Concert in Tokyo on May 5, and prior to the concert, on May 4, Lee Sungjong opened an Instagram account. The pictures uploaded featured the singer himself and other members of INFINITE.

The account was linked to Sungjong's official Twitter account to verify that it was Sungjong's personal Instagram.

The first pictured featured Sungjong standing in front of a green edifice in Tokyo, and the second one appeared to be a picture from practice for the Dilemma Tour Encore concert. The third picture, uploaded on May 6, showed INFINITE's leader Kim Sungkyu, and promoted the singer's upcoming solo album "27."

On May 5, the trend "Love Sungjongah [-ah as form of endearment in Korean]" appeared on Twitter after fans attending the concert shared videos and pictures showing Sungjong crying.

"Sungjong, don't cry," wrote Twitter user namutree_. I'm sorry that we Inspirits [INFINITE's fans] failed to protect you from rumors."

During the concert, INIFNITE's Dongwoo allegedly asked fans to not listen to online rumors linked to the group and Sungjong in particular, due to posts on Pann and Instiz, popular sites where fans of K-pop often share rumors. There are multiple posts claiming that Sungjong is a mentioned in several blind item rumors that make claims about a K-pop idol's sexuality.

Fans internationally showed support for the idol.

"Regardless of why Sungjong cried yesterday, I still want him to be happy and be himself," wrote Twitter user HAEderHyukButt.
