Nexus 4 Review: Official LG Nexus 4 Wireless Charger Released On Google Play Store
LG and Google released the official Nexus 4 charger on the Google Play Store earlier this month. Nexus 4 reviews of the device have been positive.
Priced at $60, the wireless charger allows users to charge their Nexus 4 devices via a small orb. The rounded part of the orb is plastic with a matte finish. The top of the charger features two rubberized rings that, along with the magnets, keep the Nexus 4 in place while it is charging.
The LG Nexus 4 supports Qi wireless charging, but does not work with every wireless charger that has been released.
The Nexus 4 reviews for the official wireless charger have been positive because of the chargers unique selling point: it keeps the Nexus 4 at an upright angle while charging. The Nexus 4 wireless charger allows for convenient phone use while the phone is charging, and is perfect for use on a desk.
Reviewers have claimed that the charger works just as well as the traditional USB port method.
The wireless charger also works well with Nexus 4 bumper cases, including the official and slim versions.
Currently, the only color available for the charger is black. But yesterday, the first Nexus 4 white bumper case was leaked on a Canadian retailer's web site. This leak fueled rumors that had been circulating since November 2012 about the possibility of a future release of a white Nexus 4.
The leak came just after the Android update to Jelly Bean version 4.2.2 on Feb. 15. The Jelly Bean update for Nexus 4 kills undocumented LTE, in addition to including new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on/off toggles with a press-and-hold action.
The Nexus 4 has been a huge success for LG, trumping its rival, the Samsung Galaxy S3, in processing speed with a Snapdragon quad core processor at 1.5 GHZ RAM, and moderate pricing.
The Nexus 4 and its innovative official wireless charger have received excellent reviews across the board.
