EXO-SPAO T-Shirt Fundraiser Collects Over $26,000 For UNICEF

A brand advertised by K-pop group EXO raised over $25,000 USD in a fundraiser for UNICEF.

The Korean clothing brand SAPO donated 30,168,550 KRW (around $26,700 USD) to UNICEF (United Nation's Children's Fund) on Oct 22. The donation was composed of individual donations and portions of T-shirt sales from SPAO's Myeongdong store location.

EXO is the brand's exclusive ambassador, and the donation was given to UNICEF Korea's representatives during an EXO fan signing event on Thursday.

The donation will reportedly be used for UNICEF's "Schools for Asia" program. Funs will be distributed to build schools in Asian countries including Bangladesh, India, Laos, Mongolia, and Nepal to aid child development and education.

"Schools For Asia" was inaugurated by UNICEF in 2012, following the success of "Schools For Africa," a program launched in 2004 to promote childhood education in African countries.

EXO became SPAO's endorsement models in March, alongside girl group AOA. EXO followed other SM Entertainment groups, such as Super Junior and Girls' Generation, as brand models for the clothing brand.
