If you're dying to play a "Digimon" themed video game after the premiere of "Digimon Adventure Tri," you're in luck.
Well, you're lucky in the sense that you won't have to go out and buy a PS Vita to do so. Otherwise, you'll still have to wait.
Today, Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a new trailer for upcoming mobile game "Digimon Linkz." The trailer, available to view below, features the new release date for the game as well as a preview of gameplay. The new "Digimon Linkz" release date is scheduled for some time in 2016.
According to Anime News Network, the "Digimon Linkz" game will be available for both iOS and Android platforms. The game will be free to play with in-app purchases. Fans can pre-register for the game, and all users will receive a free V-mon as a bonus for the game surpassing over 10,000 pre-registrants.
Unfortunately "Digimon Linkz" is not the only "Digimon" video game that has no official release date other than sometime next year. The next PS Vita installment in the series "Digmon World Next Order," has been announced and previewed in various screen captures and trailers.
"Digimon Linkz" is based on the "Digimon Adventure" anime series. A sequel entitled "Digimon Adventure Tri" recently premiered as a 15 year celebration of the original series. "Digimon Adventure Tri" is a six-part film series, and the second film "Determination" will premiere on March 12.
For those not familiar with the "Digimon Adventure" franchise, My Anime List describes the story as follows:
"Seven kids are transported to the Digital World, a strange place where digital creatures called 'Digimon; reside. A group of Digimon soon befriend them and keep the kids out of harm's way. The children then discover they are the Chosen Children, which protect the Digital World from evil Digimon like Devimon and Vamdemon."
