After months of filming, the production for the anticipated film "Battleship Island" has finally concluded.
Yibada recently wrote that "Battleship Island" is finally on its post-production stage after officially ending its six months of filming last December 20. The said movie has received major anticipation as it has an all-star cast starring the "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki and "Master's Sun" actor So Ji Sub.
As if the all-star cast is not enough, "Battleship Island" also gained the curiosity of netizens and critics as it was reported to have a grand set consisting of around 6,600 square meters of land in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province in South Korea. MBC News also noted that the last scenes that were shot for the film were reported to have more than 200 extras.
In the conclusion of the said Ryoo Seung Wan film, Song Joong Ki showed his appreciation and gratitude towards the producers and staff members of "Battleship Island". In recent news, it was revealed that Song Joong Ki gave away scented candles to the 500 members of the film's crew which amounted to around KRW 50,000 or USD 42. The actor is known for being close to the staff of his shows and "Battleship Island" was one of those as he showed his thankfulness for their diligence for the film.
"Battleship Island" is a film about the Japanese colonial era in South Korea. The plot revolves around the 400 Korean people who were coerced to work in an undersea coal mine, dubbed as the Battleship Island. So Ji Sub will play the role of Choi Chil Sung who is a known fighter and troublemaker on the Battleship Island. Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki shall portray the role of Park Moo Young who is a part of the Korean Independence group who will try to sneak his way to the Battleship Island to save a member of his team.
Although there has been no final date yet, "Battleship Island" is set to hit the theaters on 2017.
