Three of the four MAMAMOO members, as MooMoos know, have tattoos. Solar is the only member who doesn't have one.

Let's discuss Hwasa's tattoos and what they really represent in her life, in recognition of this incredible creation! 

MARIA

This one is no brainer, since the baptismal name of Hwasa is Maria. Hwasa stated that she had been adversely affected by both Christianity and Buddhism because of her parents. 

PARADISE IS WHERE YOU ARE

It is a wonderful quote, perhaps a reference to Hwasa's appreciation for tourism. And besides, when MAMAMOO takes a break, she manages to put in some travel time.

TRIQUETRA

The triquetra is a triangular structure made up of three interpolated lines, also known as the Trinity Knot. This reflects a woman's three life cycles initially because it involves the moon's phases.

It is also recognised as the emblem of the "Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit" in christianity as another significance in modern days.

RESONANCE

It's one of her greatest Wheein friendship tattoos! Resonance signifies in music that an additional vibration enriches the musical sound. Maybe, this indicates that she feels that her life is much better as she and Wheein support each other.

This is what Hwasa and Wheein have inked on their necks to mark their 10th anniversary as best buddies.

"Caddo" is a Southeastern American tribe, but the two think its definition is "anyone bearing your sorrow on her back."

RESONANT AND PLANETARY

It has just been revealed to the public this year, Hwasa's new tattoo.

Resonant is harmony and inspiration, while Planetary is manifestation and idealization.

HWASA's Career and Other Ventures

On the 19th of June 2014, Hwasa started her career in the band MAMAMOO and became one of the leading voices in the very first extended play (EP) Hello, upon the release of a track title, "Mr. Ambiguous." She rendered and wrote from Hello "My Heart / I Do Me."

She entered the KBS reality TV show Hyena on the keyboard in April 2018; the participation developed a partnership with rapper Loco entitled "Don't." Hwasa participated in creating and recording the song and succeeded in surpassing the Gaon Digital Chart of South Korea. The album was later recognized as Platinum.

In February 2019, Hwasa began her career as a soloist with the digital single "Twit." The route conquered the Digital Chart successfully and won a "Triple Crown," Korea's Gaon Physical upwards, Gaon Download, and Gaon Streaming rankings. In October 2019, Hwasa also wrote and recorded the song "In The Fall."

For a new remix version of "Physical" that contains Korean lyrics, Hwasa has collaborated with the international singer, Dua Lipa.

Hwasa launched a regional "gopchang craze," causing delicacy to sell throughout the entire country, during her first performance on I Live Alone in June 2018.

The female idol also became the outdoor brand representative, The North Face, for the fashion week of the season in September 2018. After the launch in 1984, Lotte Crunky Gold becomes the first female model in October 2018.

Then, she has been chosen as their latest brand model in March 2019,  for the Gold Peak Tea. In April 2019, she was then the newest model for the Rarekind Make-up Company. Hwasa has also become the new Everland Caribbean Bay brand model in June 2019. Further, she has been on the cover of the August 2019 edition of the Cosmopolitan Korea.

She then collaborated together on "Pretty Differents" and "Queen's" conceptions with Vogue magazine in November, and urban decay cosmetics. In November 2019, Ottogi announced that their latest model for their instant noodles of Jjamppong was Hwasa.

In 2020, Hwasa partnered with The Sims 4 to support its promotional campaign. She then worked together with MCM for Elle Korea's February Issue. Hwasa is now also an ambassadress for a sports brand Adidas.
