Krystal Jung from girl group f(x) has just made her screen debut with the movie titled 'More Than Family'.
The actress recently sat down for an interview to talk about the comedy-drama film and the character she played. She played the lead role, particualrly a college student named To Il who is described as aggressive and reckless but at the same time courageous. In addition, her passionate romance with a man, who's younger than her, has resulted in her getting pregnant.
At some point during the talk, Krystal touched on the fact that people think she already quit as a singer. She stated, "I naturally came across acting, and it doesn't mean that I won't be a singer anymore just to be an actress. That's just how the timing went." "If fans are upset, I'm upset as well. I wondered why they thought I quit as a singer because I'm acting," she added.
Jung went on to say that she would always accept opportunities yet she hopes that people would not misunderstand her purpose. With regard to a future f(x) reunion, she said that it's something that even if the members want could not happen immediately. She explained, "There are a lot of conditions that surround an album production. There were situations that we can't discuss, and I think it's a shame. We always talk about meeting in the future."
The idol is currently active as an actress in the previous years until now. On January 30 this year, Krystal was revealed to be part of OCN"s military cinematic drama titled 'Search' along with Moon Jung Hee and Jang Dong Yoon. She played one of the lead roles, specifically a character named Son Ye Rim, who is an elite army officer of the chemical, biological, and radiological warfare unit at the military headquarters.
'Search' tells the story of an unknown creature that attacks the Korean Demilitarized Zone and the elite special force would have to uncover the truth. It premiered on October 17 and continues to air every Saturday and Sunday.
Krystal's contract with SM Entertainment expired at the end of August this year and joined H& Entertainment in October. She has been in SM Entertainment since 2006 when the agency enrolled her in dance classes. She was first spotted by an SM employee in early 2000 when she was five, together with her sister Jessica. This earned her a cameo appearance in the music video of Shinhwa's 'Wedding March.'
Jung trained for three years until she started being a singer when she became part of a multinational girl group f(x). The band released the digital single called 'La Cha Ta' in 2009. She also became a member of the ballad group 'SM the Ballad' in 2010. That same year, Krystal made her acting debut with SBS's drama 'My Lovely Girl,' in which she plays the lead role along with Rain.
Since then, she was cast in numerous dramas and films. Meanwhile, from 2016, f(x) ceased promoting as a group and focused more on individual activities. In August 2019, the girl group reunited for a performance at SM Town Live 2019 in Tokyo, and this was their last stage together.
