CRAVITY Members Who Are Mostly Minors Were Sexually Harassed by a Woman + Starship Entertainment Gives Statement

CRAVITY, a K-pop group comprised of 1999 to 2003-liner members were sexually molested by an unidentified woman in her 20s. In response, Starship Entertainment, the agency of the male idols, gave their official position regarding the controversy.

On Oct. 3, fans and supporters of the male idol group CRAVITY were alarmed after it was reported that an unidentified woman was arrested by the police after breaking into the group's dormitory.

The woman, which was said to be in her 20s, was speculated to be an obsessed fan (sasaeng) of the group, forced herself inside the dorm, and sexually assaulted the members.

In response, Starship Entertainment released its official position regarding the matter, leaving a stern warning against future similar incidents.

 On the 3rd, Starship Entertainment, CRAVITY's agency reported a woman to the police for unauthorized intrusion and unwanted physical contact with the members.

The Gangnam Police Station who were dispatched after receiving the report narrated that they received the report at around 3 p.m. – the time when a woman entered Starship's office building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul without permission.

There were construction devices such as fingerprint recognition at the entrance, but this woman took advantage of the opportunity when an employee entered.

In the building then, the woman approached CRAVITY and made physical contact without the members' permission.

When the police arrived, the alleged sasaeng was caught in the act yet when they invited her to the police station, she refused and retaliated in the company. The agency stated, "The police officer who was dispatched asked for eviction and companionship, but 'A' did not respond and even made a fuss in front of the company for a while."


Nevertheless, the woman is now under the watch of the Gangnam police.

Starship Entertainment Warns Fans and Attests They Will Not Be Lenient if Similar Incident Occurs

As a response, Starship Entertainment reminded K-pop enthusiasts once again that it is strictly prohibited for fans to visit offices and accommodations to protect the privacy of artists.

Starship added, "If such an incident occurs later, we will proceed with legal punishment without leniency."

CRAVITY is a nine-member male idol group belonging to Starship and released its debut album on April 14 last year. The group released the first part of his first full-length album in August and has been active until recently.

Along with the news, numerous fans expressed their concern to the members, given that most of them are minors. The eldest member is 22 years old, while some of the youngest members are only 18 years old.
