On Dec. 15, the Top 100 most-searched Asians were revealed, with the rankings based on the data accumulated from Jan. 1 to Dec. 14 on search topics via Google trends. On the list, renowned K-pop idols like BLACKPINK Lisa and BTS members V and Jungkook are included.

BTS V, Jungkook, BLACKPINK Lisa and More K-pop Idols are the Most Searched Asians on Google Worldwide in 2021
Grabbing the top spot on the list is BTS V, so this means he is the most-searched Asian on Google in the world in 2021. He was also previously revealed to be the No. 1 most-searched K-pop idol on the platform.
This past November, Kim Taehyung (V's real name) went viral as the "guy in red bandana" following BTS' appearance at the 2021 American Music Awards. After the awards ceremony was held, locals started asking about the "guy in red bandana," who is none other than V.

At that time, multiple terms related to "the guy in red bandana" including "the guy on the right of Ariana" appeared when "the guy" is typed on the Google search bar.
Another BTS member entered the Top 5 on the list of Top 100 Most Searched Asians on Google Worldwide in 2021, and it is BTS Jungkook, who secured second place.
Jungkook is also the second-most-searched K-pop idol on Google this year. Previously, he was in first place on the mid-year list.

Every time the phrase "the most popular kpop idol" is typed on Google search, BTS member Jungkook always shows up, proving his "Worldwide It Boy" status.
Two more K-pop artists made it to the Top 5, and they are BTS Jimin and BLACKPINK Lisa, who took fourth and fifth spots. Notably, Lisa is the only female singer in the Top 5 and the second female celebrity after Katrina Kaif.
As of August this year, Jimin was the most-searched BTS member on Google in two categories: "news" and "celebrity and entertainment" categories. The data were divided into "Jimin" and "Park Jimin" as the search terms.

Jimin was also revealed to be the most-searched BTS member across the globe over the past year and the past five years as well, in both aforementioned categories.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Lisa was the most-searched K-pop female singer in the first quarter of the year after garnering a total of 39 average indexes in the Worldwide Google Trends.
