Former Idol Trainees Share 9 Extreme & Dangerous Diet Tips You Should Not Try Just to Lose Weight Fast

What are the extreme diets that some idol trainees had to undergo just to reach the beauty standards? In a YouTube video, four former K-pop idol trainees shared the terrible diets they had to go through in their desire to maintain the ideal body weight for an idol. 

In a video uploaded by YouTube channel RUDYGO, former K-pop idol trainees turned model and actors Heeju, Jang Eugene, Han Lian, and Hwang Sun Hye appeared as special guests. These former idol aspirants then introduced dangerous methods to lose weight in a short period.

Here are 9 Extreme Diets Experienced by Former Idol Trainees, You Should Not Try: 

1. Eating Chicken Breast and Lettuce Only

3. Avoid Drinking Water and Eat Ice Instead

According to another trainee, drinking water causes weight to increase; thus, instead of drinking water, she would eat ice to quench her thirst.

4. Donating Blood

When you donate blood, a trainee explained, you will lose hundreds of grams of weight.

However, the trainee warned to never copy it as despite the good tip, fasting once again after donating blood is dangerous.

5. Extreme Dance Challenges

To lose at least 1kg every other day, a trainee conveyed she would copy diet challenge dances on YouTube and aim to sweat a lot to lose weight.

6. Starvation

Starving can make you lose weight, but a trainee who tried this warned that it is truly dangerous as it could affect body irregularities, such as during menstruation.

"I was taken to the emergency room because of severe hives throughout my body. There was even a time when I fainted on the subway after losing weight for almost four days."

7. Brushing Teeth with Mint-Scented Toothpaste

To suppress appetite for desserts, a trainee recommended just brushing teeth with flavored or mint-scented toothpaste. Aside from refreshment, she explained that it helps to decrease appetite.

8. Watch 'Mukbang'

 

Instead of eating, a trainee experienced watching "mukbang" (eating show) before sleeping. She would also see celebrities with wannabe bodies to inspire her to lose weight.

9. Putting a Weighing Scale in Front of Refrigerator

To avoid eating, one trainee pressured herself by putting a scale in front of the refrigerator. It is a rather harsh but psychologically stimulating tip to suppress appetite.
