On Jan. 9, fans expressed their disappointment towards Jae due to his disrespectful remark towards Jamie, who is supposedly his friend.

The ex-Day6 member conducted a personal live broadcast through Twitch on the afternoon of January 8. When a fan left a comment on the broadcast that they expected Jae and Jamie to collaborate, the "Better Man" singer shot offensive words to the female star instead.

"Now that I'm not in K-pop (affiliated) anymore, I can say this, 'Why Jamie is trying to be a thot?" Jae said before bursting into laughter.

"Thot" is an abbreviation for "That hoe over there," which is low-quality English slang that demeans women.

Jae didn't stop and continue with his live stream, laughing loudly while encouraging his viewers to tell it to Jamie, and "redeem" himself by praising Jamie's music and their good friendship.

Although the male idol regarded his words as a "joke" since both the celebrities are friends, the reaction of the female singer is different.

On her now-deleted tweet on January 9, Jamie conveyed her feelings, saying, "Just remember how much I cared about you even before you were in your last company and how many times (I asked you) if you were alright. I prayed for you (like) your questions were like mine. It's really sad."

A few hours after her tweets were made, Jamie added, "I'm just deleting it, I'm okay," adding, "I hate that women have to be subjected to men's humor to appease incels on the internet period."

Incel is an abbreviation for "involuntary celibate," which means men who want to have a relationship with women but fail. Recently, it has been used as a word for a misogynist.

In other words, she made it clear that she felt offended by Jae's self-proclaimed joke.

Jae Apologizes to Jamie, Confuses 'Thot' for the Word 'Baddie'

After the backlash, fans shared a longer snippet from Jae's Twitch broadcast, where the male singer seemed to confuse the word "thot" for "baddie."

In the clip, Jae even asked the difference between the two.
