BTS Gets Two Certifications from RIAJ with 'Film out' and 'Lights'
On January 27, the Record Industry Association of Japan announced that BTS' title song "Film Out" from the best album in Japan, released in June 2021, and "Lights" released in Japan in July 2019 each has surpassed 100 million views and was listed as a "Platinum" certified work as of December 2021.
Aside from that, "Spring Day," the Japanese version of the same name, has also been played over 50 million times as of 2021 and has been certified as "Gold."
The RIAJ (Record Industry Association of Japan) divides songs into Silver (with over 30 million), Gold (over 50 million), Platinum (over 100 million), and Diamond (over 500 million), according to the cumulative number of plays (streaming section) of the song.

Before this, BTS received a "Platinum" certification for "Butter" and "Permission to Dance." In particular, "Butter" received "Platinum" certification within 72 days of its release, setting a record for acquiring "Platinum" certification in the fastest period in the history of the RIAJ.
As a result, BTS now has a total of eight "Platinum" certified songs in the streaming category. In addition to "Film Out" and "Lights," "Butter," "Permission to Dance," "Dynamite," "Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)," "Stay Gold," and "DNA" was "Platinum" certified works.
Aside from that, BTS has received certifications such as "Million," "Triple Platinum," "Double Platinum," and "Gold" by the RIAJ for several songs in various categories such as albums, singles, downloads, and DVDs.
BTS Gets the First Place for Having the Most Mentions on Twitter in 2021
In 2021, Twitter accumulated more than 7.8 billion tweets related to "K-pop" all over the world. The K-Pop artist with the most mentions on Twitter is BTS.
This is an increase of about 16 % from 6.7 billion in 2020, the highest number ever. According to Twitter, on January 26, the most mentioned K-pop artist in the world was BTS.
The number of tweets peaked during BTS' face-to-face concert "PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE -LA" held in Los Angeles, USA last year. More than 68 million BTS-related tweets were poured out from around the world.
Indonesia occupied the country with the most K-pop-related tweets in the past year, followed by the Philippines, Korea, Thailand, and the United States. According to Twitter, the interest of the global fandom, which has been limited to K-pop, has expanded to different genres such as movies, dramas, webtoons, sports, and entertainment last year.
The managing director of global K-pop and K-content partnerships on Twitter, Kim Yeon-Jung, said, "As consumption of Korean content increased amid the novel coronavirus infection (COVID- 19) pandemic last year, the mutual influence between content genres was also prominent on Twitter."

On January 27, Naver Webtoon revealed a large outdoor advertisement for HYBE Labels' original story "7FATES: CHAKHO" which features all BTS members in Time Square, New York.
