Kim Maydoni rose into popularity as a "Genius Girl" and former legendary trainee from "BIG 3" JYP and YG Entertainment. Despite initial attention from the public, her career experienced a long rocky road due to various unfortunate events.

Kim Maydoni, also known as MAYDONI first appeared in the K-pop industry in 2001, during Park Jinyoung's project to foster genius, "99% Challenge." At that time, she received the modifier "Genius Girl" and received massive attention for having impressive idol skills.

At the young age of 11, she trained under JYP Entertainment alongside Wonder Girls Sunye and 2AM Jo Kwon. Due to age, Maydoni wasn't able to debut even after training for four years and moved to her new nest, YG Entertainment.

Although her limelight is almost guaranteed due to her skills and popularity, Maydoni failed to debut in 2NE1 and eventually left the company as well.

Later in 2019, she exposed YG's strict training system, which was also the reason she decided to part ways with the agency. Aside from the toxic environment of practicing "rivalries" to absurd body standards, Kim also revealed that she was forbidden to interact with male trainees/idols such as BIGBANG.

In 2009 at the age of 17, she finally debuted with her single album, "7 Teen," and showed explosive singing and dance skills. In 2013, she released her second single, "Beginning."

The following year, Maydoni attempted to enter Japan, but her dreams were unfortunately crashed after finding out she was victimized by voice phishing. Despite these unfavorable factors, her passion for music did not go out and continuously dropped music even without broadcast exposure.

About 12 years since her last appearance in broadcast, MAYDONI in August last year, appeared on KBS2's entertainment program, "New Singer."

In the show, she recalled the obstacles she faced after being a trainee at a young age and her realizations after being in the industry for about two decades.

According to a media outlet, MAYDONI will marry a record producer at a wedding hall in Seoul on April 9.

Best wishes to MAYDONI and her soon-to-be husband!
