K-Media, Fantagio Update On ASTRO Members' Status After Moonbin's Passing

On April 20, various Korean media outlets and the agency Fantagio updated on the recent status of ASTRO including former member Rocky after learning about Moonbin's passing.

On April 19, unfortunate news has been reported that shocked the whole entertainment scene.

This was after Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 8:10 p.m. KST. Although the exact cause of death was not revealed, the police believed that "he took his own life."

Later on, the idol's agency Fantagio confirmed the sad news, and the deceased's funeral home was privately set up at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. The funeral will be on April 22.

Upon hearing the news, fans around the world send their condolences to the bereaved family, especially to ASTRO, the group to which the late Moonbin belongs.

Regarding this, Fantagio then updated on the members' status after learning about what happened to their co-member.

According to the company, MJ, who is currently serving the military after entering the center on May 9 last year, hurriedly applied for emergency leave and visited the mortuary of Moonbin.

As for the youngest Sanha and leader JinJin, the two are reportedly guarding the mortuary in sadness after hearing the sad news.

Regarding Rocky, a former member who left ASTRO and lay low from the public in the meantime, also went to the funeral hall upon the news, as confirmed by the media.

Lastly, Cha Eun Woo who was in the U.S. to complete his schedules abroad quickly boarded the plane and returned to South Korea in the afternoon to be with his other ASTRO brothers as soon as possible. He was supposed to return on April 24 but changed his plans to see his friend before his funeral.

Kpop Idols, Entertainment Scene Mourn For Late Moonbin

Following the news, a wave of condolences from his entertainment colleagues poured out.

BTS RM and EXID Hani posted black images on their personal SNS to express mourning for the late idol. Former SISTAR Hyolyn also posted a message on social media, saying, "I will pray that you are not sick there."

In addition to this, various entertainment schedules, broadcasting events, and album release schedules were postponed or reduced in respect of the idol.

Among them, IU rescheduled her press conference for her upcoming movie, "Dream" after Moonbin's funeral. JTBC's "Knowing Bros" also canceled the group LE SSERAFIM's scheduled event to meet and greet fans and media, while KBS CoolFM's "Lee Eunji''s Song Plaza" canceled the photo time for the press conference and joined the mourning.

BTOB, BTS Suga, iKON, XDinary Heroes and THE BOYZ agreed to the halting of their schedules and promotion as well to pay tribute to Moonbin.
