Psy 'Hangover' MV Hits 100 Million Views Just 40 Days After Its Release

It seems like everything Psy releases is bound to go viral.

The Korean sensation has officially reached the 100 million-view mark on YouTube with his recent single, "Hangover," which features rapper Snoop Dogg.

"Hangover," which was released 40 days ago, reached 100,007,377 views on the video-sharing site as of today, according to Yahoo Entertainment Singapore.

For those who have yet to watch the video or listen to the track, "Hangover" has truly got it all. The hip-hop song incorporates traditional Korean instruments, while the video delves into South Korea's unique drinking culture.

The success of "Hangover" might have to do with the fact that Psy is very openly familiar with the drinking culture in Korea, as he's admitted that he's a "heavy drinker."

"I can honestly say I'm hung over half of the year," stated the "Gangnam Style" hitmaker during his interview with Billboard.

"Hangover" began making headlines since the day of its release. The music video ranked No. 1 for the "Most Viewed K-pop Video in the U.S." and was also the "Most Viewed K-pop Video in the World" for the month of June as well.

How the collaboration between Psy and Snoop Dogg came to be was rather simple, according to the singer.

"One day I wrote a hip-hop track and I thought about one catchy word. I was hungover and I thought about hangover, so I just recorded it right away. As soon as I got that hook part I thought about Snoop Dogg, because we all know he's hanging over every day," explained the 36-year-old.

Despite the continuous success of "Hangover," Psy doesn't expect his recent hit to beat the song that made him the super star he is now.

"I cannot beat that song forever," Psy said of "Gangnam Style."

He added, "How can I beat a song that has 2 billion views?"
