Homeland Season 4 Trailer Spoilers [VIDEO]: EP On Dana Brody, Carrie's Baby, And Emmy Snub

"Homeland" season 4 is gearing up for its return, and a brand new trailer depicts some spoilers on Carrie and her new venture in Pakistan.

Season 4 of "Homeland" begins with Carrie overseeing her new team in Pakistan, and spoilers by executive producer Alex Gansa reveal that one dearly "missed" character will not return.

"This was a character who people loved to hate and people hated to love, and somebody we miss every day in the story room and on set," Gansa said according to LA Times. "And I can say unequivocally that Dana Brody will not be back for Season 4."

"Season four will find Carrie Mathison assigned to one of the most volatile and dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the front lines in the war on terror," revealed the "Homeland" Tumblr.

Because of this, spoilers confirm that several new cast members will join the series, including Corey Stoll ("House of Cards"), "Laila Robins ("Bored to Death"), and Suraj Sharma ("Life of Pi").

According to Digital Spy, Sharma will portray Aayan Ibrahim, a Pakistani medical student who encounters Carrie Mathison. Stoll, meanwhile, will portray a station chief in Pakistan who's an up-and-coming member of the agency. According to E! Online, Stoll will mostly working with Claire Danes as well.

And despite having a baby, spoilers confirm that "Homeland" season 4 will not delve into that storyline right away.

"That baby exists for her as a marker emotionally," continued Gansa. "The place she is now is where you cannot have dependents, so she was forced to leave the child at home. … I think emotionally she has stabilized and the mental illness we have dealt with, she has now dealt with."

"Homeland" season 4 premiere Sunday, October 5.
