International Business Times reported that it is now possible to install Android 4.4.3 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S3, particularly on the T999 model or the T-Mobile variant. This is via the VanirAOSP custom firmware which brings in new customization options, app shortcuts, and tweaks to improve system performance.

However, since the installation process involves a custom ROM, Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 users are advised to be very punctilious when it comes to flashing the VanirAOSP firmware as any mistake can cause potential damage to the device.
