David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Dating? Anderson Says `Nice Idea, But No'; The Truth Is Not Out There

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are dating? That's what the tabloids were reporting after Anderson was spotted coming out of Dushovny's place in New York amid rumors that David Duchovny and Tea Leoni were reconciling.

Celebdirtylaundry.com quoted sources saying that Tea Leoni and David Duchovny reconciliation rumors were bad intel and that Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully may have been under the covers. That's deep cover.

But believe no one, says Gillian Anderson. The truth is not out there. The X-Files stars waited until the final regular season to have their first kiss. Spooky Fox Mulder, played by Duchovny, and Gillian Anderson, who played Agent Dana Scully on Fox's "The X-Files," had chemistry, but when they finally kissed the series went downhill. And when they finally got married in the second movie, well, it just got worse.

Anderson swears it was only on-screen.

Gillian Anderson recently opened up to HuffPostLive about her relationship with David Duchovny, saying "Well now that it is over I can tell you...No. It's a nice idea, but
it's not going to happen. I think we know each other too well, we know each other than our spouses at any time when we may have had spouses. There is an attraction...maybe even more than a [friend] attraction...but anyways."

Duchovny recently said goodbye to Hank Moody, the role he played for seven years on "Californication."

David wasn't quite satisfied with how that ended though. Duchovny recently told Rolling Stone "I always wanted Hank to die. That would have been my way of ending it."

"The X-Files" was a television show that ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002 following in the tradition of mystery detective shows like "The Night Stalker" that became a major cult  hit and geek obsession when it ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Gillian Anderson, played FBI Special Agent Dana Scully and David Duchovny played Fox "Spooky" Mulder, FBI agents who investigated unexplained phenomenon and odd monster people while looking for Duchovny's long-lost sister who disappeared in a UFO when he was a kid. Two movies were made of series, one filled in the gaps over the summer break, the other made when the series ended.
