Caspar Lee YouTube Celebrity: 20-Year Old Internet Sensation Reportedly A Millionaire Thanks To Channel With Millions Of Subscribers

Caspar Lee YouTube Celebrity: Most of us see YouTube as a channel or provider of entertainment or news. But in the eyes of YouTubers, this website is also a goldmine. Take the case of 20-year-old YouTube celebrity Caspar Lee for example.

After making videos for fun in his home in Knysna, Caspar never thought that he would someday be on the red carpet waving to his fans and granting interviews. After two years when he launched his channel Dicasp (Director Caspar), he is now living like a professional with hired managers. "I'm bad at negotiating. I always say 'yes', but apparently that's not always so great," he says in an interview with Times Live.

Caspar never said how much he currently earns. But in a ballpark, we are talking about around 5 million dollars a year. And now living in London, he says, “"I'm looking at investing in some companies and property."

"Right now I'm on 2.34million subscribers, growing at 130000 a month, which is pretty cool. Whatever the advertisers are paying Google, you split: 55% to you and 45% to YouTube," he adds, spoken like a true business man.

But of course, his mind was far from business or finances before he skyrocketed to fame. When he was 16 years old, Casper simply wanted to shoot videos to get attention from girls.

Before his channel Dicasp succeeded, the 20-year-old internet sensation had some fall backs, particularly when his two channels flopped. "It was terrible. I got a lot of hates." Still, he continued. Until finally, he found the jackpot! "It's one of the most difficult things in the world to do and I don't recommend anyone starts it as a career. You have to do it for fun, and if it turns into something, great."

Caspar Lee currently tours the world along with other YouTubers, attending summits and meeting fans. Now this is the life for him. Caspar says that his story is the living proof to parents that not everything that gets involved with the internet is bad.

"Parents don't understand how healthy the internet can be. It's not evil. We shouldn't avoid it. Every day something is happening in the YouTube world. I don't think people will ever be able to tame it."
