Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are starring in a new movie together! It's been nine years since the dynamic Hollywood duo graced our screens in co-star roles - and we all know the pretty major impact 2005's "Mr and Mrs Smith" had in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's lives.

Their upcoming flick, "By The Sea", is a huge project for Angelina Jolie - the new movie is both written and directed by the 39-year-old actress. It seems like Angelina may have found just the niche she was looking for in becoming so involved with the production side of filmmaking.

"[Universal Pictures] have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker," said Angelina in the Telegraph.

Universal's co-chairman, Donna Langley, said that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt "represent two of Hollywood's brightest talents", and that her company was "excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece, [By The Sea]".

Angelina Jolie's new movie is not her first foray into directing - in 2011 she hit our screens with "In The Land Of Blood and Honey", which was set during the Bosnian War. It was nominated in the 69th Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Foreign Language Film.

The Telegraph said Brad Pitt's partner wants to take even more of a step away from acting to embrace more of the filmmaking world.

"Acting is going to take more of a backseat," said the "By The Sea" star. "I've had a wonderful career and I'm very happy to have had all the opportunities I've had to tell stories and work for as long as I have. I would like to focus more on writing and directing."

Outside the bright lights of Hollywood, the actress said she wants to do more in terms of her work with the United Nations and the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative.
