‘Arrow’ Season 3 Spoilers: Lauren Enters the Spotlight; Executive Producer Teases On Felicity’s Past

"Arrow" season 3 spoilers show that Laurel Lance story will be on the spotlight when the series resumes as the showrunner teased that Felicity's backstory will finally be revealed.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim dished out "Arrow" season 3 spoilers when he spoke with TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich during theCW event on Thursday.

"One of the things we're most excited about is Laurel's story. Everything that we've been gearing up for, for the last 46 episodes, will come to fruition," he said.

Mitovich said that it could possibly include the "passing of a baton/leather jacket in the season finale."

When the season resumes, Laurel Lance will still be with the DA's office and "there will be some interactions with a new character that we haven't announced yet.... Her fans will be really, really happy."

As for Felicity, the showrunner revealed further "Arrow" season 3 spoilers when he said: "We have had a backstory for her for over a year now that we keep saying, 'This is the episode where we're going to do it,' and we don't."

"But this is the year we're going to do it. That script is getting worked on as we speak," the showrunner added.

The CW press site has revealed "Arrow" season 3 spoilers when it posted a synopsis of the premiere episode called "The Calm."

According to Zap2it, there appears to be a time jump from the season 2 finale as Lance (Paul Blackthorne) made it to captain and now is even heading a task force. And Oliver Queen asking Felicity Smoak out on a date means the Green Arrow is serious when he fake "confessed" his feelings towards her.

The official CW "Arrow" season 3 spoilers reads: "In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen -- not as long as the city needs The Arrow."
