Power Rangers Movie Reboot Cast: Pink Ranger To Be Played By ‘Kickass’ Star Chloe Moretz As ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ Writer Roberto Orci Talks

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Reboot has been officially announced and with it casting rumors soon came flying in. A-list actors like Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Lautner, Liam Hemsworth, Jack Gleeson, Liam Neeson and Chloe Grace Moretz are now being linked to the film.

Lionsgate revealed its plans for the 1990's children's classic:

"With an extensive and extremely devoted worldwide fan base as well as a deep and detailed mythology, the Power Rangers are primed for the big screen."

The film studio added that the reboot will re-visualize the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast as "a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world."

Both Lautner and Hemsworth together with Hiddleston are now being rumored to play the Red Ranger role. It's like Twilight vs. Hunger Games all over again, only this time the hunks are battling.

While, Moretz has reportedly joined to play the Pink Ranger role already. According to MTV News, Chloe Moretz has accepted the role offered to her by the studio as Pink Ranger, adding that she's excited to be Kimberly Hart.

Fans are also asking for Michael Bay to helm the highly anticipated Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie reboot.

While, there has been no official cast being named for the planned project it seems that the 90s' cult teenage superhero show is actively gearing up with X-Men: First Class scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz tapped to pen the script with "The Amazing Spiderman" screenwriter Roberto Orci producing the reboot.

IGN was able to caught Orci at the TCA press tour promoting the second season of Sleepy Hollow. He told IGN about his plans for the upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie reboot and how he's worried that he might ruin the franchise.

He explained that what is important is understanding what the fans want and what they love about the franchise.

"Part of it is seeing what we remember of it; our generation and what our memories of it are. Part of it is seeing the fans of it today. There are a lot of kids that love it today, and so it's about doing your homework. You talk to everybody who loves it and you find out why they love it and then you figure, what is the appropriate translation of that, tonally, to now? We have the added benefit of a movie is going to be two hours, or whatever it is, so it's gotta have an arc and a reality to it that maybe you don't have a chance to do all the time. That's going to be the exciting part."

He added:

"One of the first things we did was learn and read...They have 600 pages of research that they have on their stuff. We read through the synopsis of everything they did and we are actually taking into account quite a bit of the canon in a real way. We're not just a leave it behind reboot. [Haim] Saban cares very much about that. This is something that he created. I had to go to his house, personally, to tell him, "Listen, I'm your man. Miller and Stenz, these are your guys. I promise you I won't ruin your franchise." And he said, "It's very important to me, because kids around the world know what the Power Rangers are. So you can't just come in here and walk all over it. It better be consistent with what I've been doing." And I said, "Yes sir!"

Orci went on to add that the upcoming reboot will have some form of continuity with the original series, but in what capacity he wouldn't say.

Orci then revealed that Power Rangers movie reboot will continue from the original series but he was tight lipped about the cast involved.

"It's got a continuity within the world. I can't tell you what, but it does have a continuity."

What about you Kpopstarz readers? Whom would you prefer to play the red ranger role for the planned Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie reboot?
