"Hawaii Five-0" season 5 spoilers revealed the addition of Amanda Setton to the cast playing the medical examiner trainee of Max as McGarrett moves on from Catherine.

TVGuide revealed "Hawaii Five-0" season 5 spoilers when it reported that Amanda Setton ("The Crazy Ones") will play Dr. Mindy Shaw, the new trainee of Max (Masi Oka). She is described as "a smart young woman who takes initiative and turns in impressive work, Dr. Shaw will be introduced in the Season 5 premiere."

Meanwhile, the TVLine dished out more "Hawaii Five-0" season 5 spoilers when it hinted of a new love interest for McGarrett after his romance with Catherine, and the meeting between the hero and his new ladylove will take place at the grave of his father.

"How in the world is that going to happen? This woman is someone that McGarrett's father tried to assist in the investigation of a case regarding a family member many years ago, even after the case had been cold," CarterMatt said.

As a show of appreciation, the woman visits McGarrett's father's grave every year. "And this is where the two parties have their chance meeting. It's not exactly the setting for a romantic comedy, but that is probably what makes this interesting in the end," it said.

Meanwhile, Alex O'Loughlin told the HawaiiNewsNow  that he's very excited about the upcoming "Hawaii Five-0" season 5.

"I'm very excited to be here, I'm very excited to be going into a season five. It's hard to get a show on the air, it's even harder to make it a hit. I don't know what the recipe is but we're just going to do what we did every year and work really hard together," he said.

Showrunner Peter Lenkov also told the publication that they are following a "theme of resolution" this year, with 25 episodes laid out for "Hawaii Five-0" season 5.

"So a lot of things that were left out in the open will resolve this year. There's a lot of fan favorite characters that will be back. I think there a lot of great surprises and I think there's a lot of stories left to tell," the showrunner said.
