Marvel Gives 'The Amazing Spiderman 3' 2016 Release Date To 'Avengers 3': 'Sinister 6' Also In 2016, No New Spiderman Until 2018 [PHOTO]

"The Amazing Spiderman 3" won't be released for another four years, until 2018. Instead Marvel will be releasing "The Avengers 3" in that time slot.

The wait between "The Amazing Spiderman" and "The Amazing Spiderman 2" was only two years, the most recent being released this pasat April.

After initially setting the release date for 2016, Sony's Columbia Pictures announced its updated schedule for the web-slinger at Comic Con on Wednesday, July 23. The film will now be released on a still-unknown date in 2018.

We will still get a Spiderman villian movie called "Sinister Six" in 2016.

The original Sinister Six, from the Marvel comics published in 1964, were comprised of Doctor Octopus, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, Mysterio, and Vulture. No word yet on which iteration of supervillains will appear in the film, however.

Hours after "undating" the movies "Amazing Spider-Man 3" and "Amazing Spider-Man 4" to be released on June 10, 2016 and May 4, 2018, Marvel Studios and Disney announced a release date for an upcoming "Avengers" movie.

At the San Diego Comic-Con, Disney, along with Marvel Studios, has announced changes within their upcoming comic movie line up. Both companies have decided to suspend "Amazing Spider-Man 4," previously set to be released in May 2018, replacing it with the upcoming "Avengers 3" film. Disney is not confirming as to what the exact date the movie will open, although the studio confirmed that May might be right time to release the "Avengers 3" film. "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," the upcoming sequel, is set to hit the big screens in summer of May 2015, sharing its release date

With these changes, "Amazing Spider-Man 3" shifts slots to 2018 from 2016, while vacating "Amazing Spider-Man 4's" May 2018 release date for "Avengers 3." Instead, Sony will release an "The Sinister Six," a "Spider-Man" spinoff, set to appear on Nov. 11, 2016.

Marvel and Disney have been making aggressive moves, especially after pitting "Captain America 3" within the same release date as "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," May 6, 2016. Both films will still be released at the same date, although speculations have been surfacing that "Batman" may be moved to another date.

Marvel Studios is a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Disney Company. Both studios have distributed box-office movie franchises, including "X-Men," "Spider-Man" and the Marvel Cinematic Universe multifilm franchises: "Iron Man," "Captain America," "Thor," "Avengers" and the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy."

To sum things up, "Avengers 3" will be released on May 2015, "Amazing Spider-Man 3" on 2018, while its spinoff, "The Sinister Six," is set to be released on Nov. 11, 2016.
