Hollywood loves to fill its screens with white actors. Good thing that a few black actors managed to grab a few roles in ‘Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1’. They are an accomplished bunch. Before you step into the cinemas and start wondering where where all these awesome black actors came from, read about how they paid their dues!

Jeffrey Wright (Beetee)

He was one of the most interesting and complex characters in ‘Hunger Games Catching Fire’. Jeffrey Wright, 48, will continue playing Beetee, the mastermind behind the force field, in ‘Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1’.

He got his big break when he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 1994 as Norman "Belize" Arriaga in Tony Kushner's ‘Angels in America’.

Meta Golding (Enobaria)

This beautiful actress in ‘Hunger Games Catching Fire’ is one of the career tributes that got sucked up by the Capital. Enobaria, sharp teeth and all, is known for the brutally disturbing methods she came to win The Hunger Games.

Meta Golding, 42, is a third-culture kid that grew up as a daughter of American United Nations food relief worker. Not only was she a Haitian beauty queen, she was a competitive Italian national figure skater before her injury crushed her dreams. But that’s alright because now she’s in ‘Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1’!

Patina Miller (Commander Paylor)

Patina Miller, 29, will appear for the first time in ‘Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1’ as the leader of the rebellion in District 8. Does she look familiar? That’s because she won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress. She played the Leading Player in the Broadway revival of ‘Pippin’. If she is fit enough to do eight shows a week, she is fit enough to lead the Hunger Games rebellion.

She also got married this summer so congrats to Patina!

Mahershala Ali (Commander Boggs)

If you have been binge watching ‘House of Cards’ recently, this will be a familiar face. Mahershala Ali, 40, will be playing Commander Boggs, President Coin's right hand man. Since his plotline is linked to Katniss, he won’t be just another backdrop characters for ‘Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1’.

He also played Tizzy in 2008’s ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’.

Lenny Kravitz (Cinna)

Last but certainly not least, the Grammy-Award winning artist will reprise his role as the ever-so-trendy and good-hearted Cinna. Enough said.

Wait, one question though. Will he sport that gold eyeliner again in Mockingjay?
