Oscar Pistorius Murder Case Update: Proceeds On Sale Of House Where Girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp Died Insufficient? ‘Blade Runner’ Suffers Another Setback With Brother’s Accident

Oscar Pistorius murder case is nearing the conclusion but his money woes continue as the house where Reeva Steenkamp was murdered was sold for much lesser price than he asked for. Meanwhile, the paralympian known as "Blade Runner" suffered another setback when his brother figured in an accident.

According to New Zealand's City Press, the house was put up in the market in relation to the Oscar Pistorius murder case as the athlete is trying to raise money for his defense. It was purchased by Louwtjie Louwrens on the idea that "there was very little crime in Pistorius' suburb."

The buyer reportedly bought the house, where Oscar Pistorius shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp to death, intending to retire there.

Three years ago, Oscar Pistorius first put the house on the market for R6.5m but nobody bought the property. Louwtjie Louwrens, meanwhile, purchased the house for about R6.5m, the publication added.

"He's a celeb. And I have tremendous sympathy for him. I actually wanted to surprise my family. When they found out about the bid, they thought it wouldn't go through. Now it has," he told City Press.

Meanwhile, as if the stress in Oscar Pistorius' murder case isn't enough, the "Blade Runner" is also trying to deal with the accident his brother suffered in Pretoria on Friday night.

"We can confirm that Carl was involved in a serious car accident last night. Carl was badly hurt but we are thankful that he is out of danger. He was transferred to a hospital in Pretoria," spokeswoman Anneliese Burgess said in a statement published on the Independent.

According to the website, it wasn't the first time Oscar Pistorius' brother was involved in road crash, as he was just acquitted for the death of a woman in a traffic incident back in 2008.

Both the prosecution and the defense are set to deliver their closing arguments in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial on August 7.
