"NCIS" season 12 spoilers reveal a sliver of light for Tony and Ziva, collectively known as Tiva, fans after an intriguing exchange of tweets by the former writer and director of the very popular "Truth or Consequence" episode back in season 7. Meanwhile, cast Mark Weatherly hammed it up for the series of images taken during production posted on his Twitter.

The website Cartermatt first reported of the connection to the seemingly innocuous tweets by director Dennis Smith, who directed "Truth or Consequence," and writer Jesse Stern. The site said that although it's very careful about reporting "NCIS" season 12 spoilers relating to the Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David romance, the tweets are very hard to ignore.

On August 3, Dennis Smith wrote on his Twitter: "Just talking about 'Truth or Consequences' with Mr.Weatherly and Mr. Stern the other night over a nice bottle of wine."

The Mr. Stern, Cartermatt added, "is a reference to Jesse Stern, the former writer for this episode. Stern has gone on to write the 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' games, and worked on a pilot briefly with fellow former 'NCIS' cohort / current 'NCIS: Los Angeles' showrunner Shane Brennan."

Fueling the fire is the fact that Stern wrote in his own Twitter account: "Hi #TivaCamp2014 been thinking a little bit about a follow up to Truth or Consequences lately. Think that'd be fun?"

For now, however, nothing is set yet, particularly since the producers of the show are already thinking of giving Tony another love interest.

Matt Webb Mitovich wrote "NCIS" season 12 spoilers for TVLine quoting showrunner Gary Glasberg who said that a plan to create a new love interest for Tony DiNozzo is in the "formative stages."

"It's time for Tony to continue to grow a little bit. He went through a lot last year emotionally and tried to deal with Ziva's departure as he could. And it's time for someone new. We'll be mature about it and handle it properly, and Michael's (Weatherly) excited about it," he said.
