Dancing With The Stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley are no longer friends. The pair have been close since they were dance partners on the dance competition show.

DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy said being called Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend was "unbearable" a few weeks ago. Now, it looks like the former "Dancing with the Stars" fixtures are on the outs.

According to media reports Chmerkovskiy's new romance with Jennifer Lopez cost him the friendship of Kirstie Alley. Jennifer Lopez is best friends with Leah Remini, a former Scientologist.

Remini hit headlines least year when she quit Scientology and lashed out at the religion in public. People magazine reported that Kirstie Alley said Remini was a "bigot" for publicity stunt.

According to an interview with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live," Maks said Alley stopped "getting along" with him.

Maksim told Cohenn "We had a great relationship ... but I got a message now that I am associating with other people that she can't be associated with, I am no longer to be spoken with, and sorry, but it is what it is."

Chmerkovskiy said he doesn't judge people by their religions.

"I'm Jewish. I don't really believe in science fiction, but whatever. It's sad that we've gone through so much together, and I feel like I've helped her. And this is where we're at now. But I think the world of her, and I wish her the best," the DTWS star said.

Maksim said that Alley believes he is becoming friends with the wrong people.

"She stopped getting along with me," Chmerkovskiy continued. "We had a great relationship ... But I got a message now that I am associating with other people that she can't be associated with, I am no longer to be spoken with, and sorry, but it is what it is."

Maks told the celebrity site Confidenti@l "I now understand why Hollywood is such a difficult place to have a good relationship in: because there's all these interferences. Two people have to be so strong - and notice I didn't say 'in love.' They have to be in love, but trust me, there've been situations when two people have been really in love, and all of this gets in the way and it completely ruins it."

According Leah Remini. a close friend of J.Lo, Maks and Lopez are friends, nothing more. On her new reality show, "Leah Remini: It's All Relative," Remini said her friend Jennifer Lopez and DWTS dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy are "not an item."

People magazine reported that Jennifer Lopez, 44, met "DWTS" dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 34, through Leah Remini when she was dancing on "DWTS" with Tony Dovolani.

Chmerkovskiy and Lopez met in November 2013, when they performed together at the American Music Awards.
