Oscar Pistorius murder case trial has gone on to the closing arguments and the prosecutor said that the "Blade Runner" is guilty of killing his girlfriend  Reeva Steenkamp, and not some unknown intruder whom he accused of breaking into their home.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel siad in his closing argument in the Oscar Pistorius murder case trial that the claim of the defense that the paralympian was so scared of the intruder that he shot through a bathroom door while his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was inside should not hold water.

"[If] I know there is a human being behind that door. I mean to kill that person and I do so. That it turned out to be Reeva is [legally] of no consequence," he said, according to The Guardian.

"The court should have no difficulty in rejecting his full version of events, not only as not reasonably possibly true, but in essence as being absolutely devoid of any truth. It's a snowball effect of lies. You tell one and it becomes too much. You just have to keep going and going," he said.

Judge Thokozile Masipa is expected to study the verdict on Friday, then hand down the ruling in a few weeks.

As for the defense in the Oscar Pistorius murder case, Barry Roux claimed that the state has presented an inconsistent timeline which puts in doubt the paralympian's guilt in the killing of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He said that prosecution resorted to emotion rather than "serious, material, objective" facts to sway the case in its favor.

Roux will continue his closing argument on Friday.

Nel said that Oscar Pistorius entire defense rests on blaming his actions to "somewhere else."

Earlier, the defense claimed that Oscar Pistorius suffered from generalized anxiety disorder which caused him to shoot at the door, not knowing that Reeva Steenkamp was there. The evaluation by doctors however proved that he did not suffer from the condition.
