Anwan Glover Stabbed Update: Anwan Glover thanked his fans for their support after he was beaten and stabbed in a nightclub in Washington, D.C. this past weekend.

Anway Glover, who stars on The Wire, wrote "I want to thank all of my fans, followers and friends for their inquiries, we'll wishes, prayers and love."

The actor who plays gang member Slim Charles on The Wire was confronted by unknown assailants who assaulted and stabbed him. The club in downtown Washington D.C. club where Glover was stabbed loses lost its liquor license.The Washington Post reported that the Washington D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Control Board voted unanimously to summarily suspend the liquor license for Club Asia.

Anwan Glover was treated for a laceration after he was reportedly stabbed and kicked in a D.C. nightclub early Sunday.

Anwan Glover told the police that an unknown person punched him and another person hit him on the head when he was at Café Asia early on Sunday. Glover told police he was kicked repeatedly and felt sharp pain in his side.

Glover's manager, Tiffany Turner, confirmed that Anwan was attacked by several unknown people after his musical group gave a performance in Columbia, Md.

Glover took to Instagram to say "As many of you are aware, i was involved in an incident last night. While supporting another band, at their show, I was involved in an altercation with some unknown people. While defending myself, I was stabbed. I was hospitalized and have been released. I am not a stranger to adversity and when shown hate, I'm going to spread love. I am recovering and will be back soon. My flesh may be stabbed but my spirit is unbreakable. I want to thank all of my fans, followers and friends for their inquiries, we'll wishes, prayers and love.
