As the tagline hints (“Modern medicine had to start somewhere”), ‘The Knick’ promises a racy story behind how the medical surgery came to be. The TV show centers around cocaine and opium addict Dr. John Thackery (Clive Owen), who is the “newly appointed leader of the surgery staff”, and the professional and personal choices that he makes. Andre Holland stars opposite Clive Owen as Dr. Algernon Edwards.

Now, to get to the nitty gritty - ‘The Knick’ gets to the nudity faster than any other TV show in history. According to Vulture, the show “opens with a shot of a woman's naked body”. Talk about setting the scene.

This nudity scene happens mere 15 seconds into the TV show, although Vulture notes that the blurry body is on screen at about 10 seconds in.

The runner-up “Fastest Nudity” TV show goes to HBO’s ‘True Detective’ with breasts and nipples appearing 38 seconds into the show. The third place goes to Netflix’s ‘Hemlock Grove’ with bare breasts at 41 seconds.

Seeing a pattern here? All these nudities are of a female body.

The “Fastest Male Nudity” title goes to Starz’s ‘Da Vinci Demons’ in which a man’s derriere is revealed on screen one second short of a minute into the TV show.

Another fun fact. Juliet Rylance, one of the few female actresses in this steroid-driven drama, is the daughter of the great Mark Rylance, ex-artistic director of the Shakespeare’s Globe in London and too-many-time Tony Award winning actor.
