LG G Pad 8.3 Review, Specs: Android Slab’s Specs Incl. 8.3” Display, Snapdragon Quad-Core Processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB Memory, 5 MP Camera; A Budget Mid-Range Mobile

LG G Pad 8.3 review, specs: Powered by a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core Krait 300 processor, the G Pad 8.3 sports an 8.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage (expandable up to 64 GB), Android OS, v4.2.2 Jelly Bean (upgradable to v4.4.2 KitKat), and a 5 MP camera—all mid-range specs for a budget-friendly price tag under $337.

Based on its specs and features, the LG G Pad 8.3 is definitely not a head turner. It also certainly not a premium cut from the market. However, with a reasonable price, it still gives a good fight against other tablets.

DESIGN. The overall body is good. Its measurement of 8.54 x 4.98 x 0.33 inches and weight of 338 grams strikes a balance between weight and portability. Although its cover is a mixture of aluminium and plastic, its entire feel is still metal, cool and sturdy like an iPad Mini.

However, when it comes to style, the look of the smartphone is a giveaway for its price. Sadly, LG failed to pay attention to detail, particularly with the placement of the dual speakers and the mix of white and silver on one of its versions.

DISPLAY. With a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 273 ppi, the G Pad 8.3 is no Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 or Nexus 7. Still, its 8.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is still fairly sharp and bright. LG could have worked more on its screen to look less washed out.

PERFORMANCE. After the benchmark tests of Trusted Reviews, the G Pad 8.3 was able to easily handle some 3D games. The website even said that it is more powerful than the second-generation Nexus 7.

CAMERA. If you’re after a quality shooter, then this LG tablet is not for you. Its 5 MP primary camera only has 2592 х 1944 pixels, autofocus, without a flash. But it still features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, panorama, and HDR. It also has a secondary 2 MP camera.

In the end the LG G Pad 8.3 is not perfect. However, if you think about it, its mid-range quality is not really that bad if you look at its price.
