Billy Joel dusted off "Uptown Girl" last week at Madison Square Garden while Christie Brinkley cheered Billy while dancing and smiling to the beat of the music.

After nearly 20 years ago of being divorced, the irreconcilable differences of the two have not stopped them from remaining to be as friends.

Billy Joel on the stage while singing took notice of Christie and asked the camera crew to film her, who was bopping and enjoying the song.

The model was starred in the video for the song when it was a hit back way back 1983. However, the two were not yet closed to each other, Brinkley was only one of Joel's mind at that time.

Originally it was "Uptown Girls" and Joel was thinking of Whitney Houston, Brinkley and his girlfriend that time which was Elle Macpherson.

Way back then, Joel claimed that Macpherson was the sole inspiration of the song, but she has just become a footnote after they broke up. Joel and Brinkley struck up into a relationship that tends to tag Brinkley as the Uptown Girl for her prominent appearance with Joel.

The song was closely associated with Brinkley, which is one of all time fan favorites and hits, from his set list during his tour in 1994 entitled River of Dreams right after the couple split.

Joel seems to have warmed up the song again, Brinkley and Joel remained good friends after they split up still taking good care of their daughter Alexa.
