Twitch implemented the Audible Magic's recognition software last week. The new regime for archived videos rolled out at the same time.

However most of the public were asking and coming to the terms with the news that their videos will no longer be available and can never be stored forever.

"This was our bad. I'm glad we communicated the change to VOD storage policy in advance, giving us a chance to address issues we missed like 2-hour highlights for speed runners before the change went into effect. I'm not so glad we failed on communicating the audio-recognition change in advance, and wish we'd posted about it before it went into effect. That way we could have gotten community feedback first as we're doing now after the fact," said Twitch CEO Emmet Shear
