‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date Set Aside As George R.R. Martin Dishes Spoilers; Author Admits Some Characters’ Fate Still Undecided

"Winds of Winter" release date has been set aside as George R.R. Martin dished out serious spoilers. The author admitted that some characters' fate is still undecided.

George R.R. Martin graced the San Diego Comic-Con but though the announcement of "Winds of Winter" release date was not forthcoming, the author nevertheless confessed that some fans already knew the ending of the series after figuring out the Easter eggs he left in the books.

Author George R.R. Martin said that he read so many theories about the characters and the trajectory of the book and while some of them were amusingly "bull---t and creative," a number of them arrived at the correct conclusion.

"At least one or two readers had put together the extremely subtle and obscure clues that I'd planted in the books and came to the right solution," he said.

But that doesn't mean George R.R. Martin will change the ending even if he wanted to surprise the readers with a twist because he hates "predictable fiction as a reader."

"Some of my readers who don't read the boards, which thankfully there are hundreds of thousands of them, will still be surprised and other readers will say: 'see, I said that four years ago, I'm smarter than you guys,'" he said.

One of the theories being scrutinized in different boards is the lineage of Jon Snow, according to iDitigalTimes, who is supposedly the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. That theory has been going around for quite some time and there's even a video about it.

But that's not all there is to it about Jon Snow as he is supposed to be the "Prince that was promised" and not Stannis Baratheon. That means Jon Snow, being born of both Stark and Targaryen, is one of the rare men who can ride dragons. He is also the man who will unite men and the Night King and the Others.

However, this is just a theory that shall be confirmed by the author himself. For now, fans will have to wait for the "Winds of Winter" release date for more details.
