‘Jupiter Ascending’ Release Date Affected By CGI Problems? Movie’s Promotional Stills Promise Action Packed Thriller

"Jupiter Ascending" release date was reportedly pushed back because of issues with the special effects. Fans have a lot to look forward to, however, as the movie's promotional footages unveiled at the Comic-Con promised an action-packed thriller.

According to report by ChristianPost, the "Jupiter Ascending" release date was moved to February 2015 due to CGI problems.

Dan Fellman, domestic distribution chief of Warner Bros, in a statement said that The Wachowski brothers ("Matrix") still has a lot of ground to cover the 2,000 CGI effects on the film. The studio also needs to craft a marketing campaign to promote the movie starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.

"With the July release date, they were just not going to make it on time. A lot of the issue for us was getting it ready for the international release, since the foreign territories need additional time," the statement read.

Meanwhile, ahead of the "Jupiter Ascending" release date, the footages unveiled during the San Diego Comic-Con promises an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Although the teaser released on YouTube gave a taste of what fans can expect, attendees of the Comic-Con got a mouthful.

"We saw a ton of footage, and we're pretty much sold on the humor, the incredibly creative action, and yes, the 'chosen one' storyline," Charlie Jane Anders wrote for iO9 website.

Channing Tatum, who graced the panel for "Jupiter Ascending," said that the Wachowski brothers are "absolutely out of their minds. We really try to do something different, something you've never seen before. It's not a book or a comic, so we tried to push it."

The plot of "Jupiter Ascending," just like the "Matrix," revolves around the chosen one-in this case it's Mila Kunis' character Jupiter-whom the aliens wanted to kill because she's the reincarnation of a royalty long dead. Movie spoilers also reveal that Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum's characters makelove, even if he confessed that genetically he's closer to dogs than humans.
