Jabberwocky Festival Cancelled; Ticket Refund Money Gone?

Jabberwocky Festival, which was slated to happen this weekend in London, was cancelled at the last minute by All Tomorrow's Parties. Fans who have already bought there tickets find themselves in a quandary, as they get tossed from ATP to a third-party ticketing firm in hopes of getting refunded.

According to an announcement made by ATP on their Facebook page, the Jabberwocky Festival was cancelled due to poor ticket sales and that had they pushed through with the event, "it would have 100% been the end of ATP."

ATP'S Barry Hogan posted an statement on their website, which stated that refunds would be available, a report from Pitchfork said.

With Jabberwocky Festival cancelled, ticket-holders from different parts of the world would also need to address the costs of their booked plane tickets and hotel rooms.

Many UK-based buyers have already gone to Dash Tickets, the ticketing firm for the festival, to ask for their refund. But Dash denied that they were the responsible party for handing out the ticket money, claiming on their statements that they had already given the Jabberwocky funds to ATP.

Dash cited the terms and conditions of their service for the festival and said that they"went to lengths to alert everyone that ATP holds the funds on all sales and that the refunds can only be actioned through ATP." The company hints on taking legal action against the promoter, saying "our trust in ATP seems to have been misplaced."

ATP was quick to retort and said that refunds for the show would come from Dash. "For the vast majority of people, Dash Tickets will be their point of purchase," ATP said in their statement. "It is their responsibility to refund the customer, as they were the company that took payments; not ATP."

The Jabberwocky Festival, which was set to happen on August 15-16 at the ExCel Centre in London, boasted a lineup that included Panda Bear, Caribou, Perfect Pussy, Pissed Jeans, Deaf Heaven and Cloud Nothings.
