YG Family Updates: Winner Continues To Impress, Park Bom of 2NE1 Makes First Major Appearance Since Drug Scandal, And G-dragon Hopes For A BIGBANG Comeback Before The Year Is Out

It would appear this weekend was an exciting one for YG Entertainment. Fans across social media continue to be impressed with the debut stage performances of the rookie group WINNER. This was followed by the YG Family Concert on August 15th at the AIA Real Life Festival in which Park Bom made her first Korean public appearance since the news of her drug scandal. Finally, the biggest YG Family news this weekend comes from G-dragon's announcement that he'd work hard to make sure BIGBANG would have a comeback before the end of 2014.

After a long and patient wait, YG Entertainment finally debuted their newest boy group WINNER earlier this month. The boys continue to generate enthusiasm from fans as they make their way through the music show circuit. This weekend they made their INKIGAYO debut. Although they may have had to share the stage with veterans like SISTAR and even the solo debut of Shinee's Taemin, fans were pleased with the boys' performance of their song "Empty." As reported by Allkpop, even their sunbae, Dara of 2NE1 came to support them and then later posted to Instagram, "Good job good job good job!!!"

Fans who may have been missing Park Bom since her absence from the TV show "Roommate" had to wait no longer as she performed with the other girls of 2NE1 at the YG Family Concert. 2NE1 opened the event with songs from their most recent album "Crush," before they were followed up by newbies Akdong Musician. This is Park Bom's first major appearance in Korea after allegations were made that she had been importing illegal drugs. Thankfully with this performance, fans can be assured that Park Bom has not let the scandal bring her down.

The most exciting bit of YG Family news this weekend however was definitely G-dragon's announcement of a possible BIGBANG comeback. Things have been relatively quiet in terms of group work for most successful group of the YG Family, as most members have been focused on their solo work. But given G-dragon's tendency to either release or announce upcoming albums around the time of his August 18th birthday, it would only make sense that he'd promise to work hard producing so that BIGBANG could make a comeback before the end of 2014 (Koreaboo).

This summer in K-pop has definitely been full of comebacks, debuts, and solo activities, but it's nice to know that you can always count on the YG Family to keep our desire for new music satisfied.
