"Alice in Wonderland 2" spoilers reveal that Sacha Baron Cohen will join the cast as Johnny Depp was spotted filming in Gloucester.

The UK's Independent dished out "Alice in Wonderland 2" spoilers by reporting that apart from Sacha Baron Cohen, Rhys Ifans-the Welsh actor who plays the Lizard in "Amazing Spider-Man"-is also joining the cast.

They will join the original cast of Johnny Depp as the mad hatter, Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. Stephen Fry will voice the Cheshire Cat, Michael Sheen as the White Rabbit and Alan Rickman as the Blue Caterpillar.

The production already started at the Shepperton Studios in London, and "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass" will be helmed by James Bobin.

The first movie grossed over $1 billion at the box office worldwide and also grabbed two Oscars for Bets Costume Design and Best Direction. Judging from the success at the stills, a sequel is all but done. Producers have announced the sequel in December 2012 and tapped Linda Woolverton to pen the screenplay.

"Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass" 3D is set for release on May 27, 2016.

According to Cinema Blend's "Alice in Wonderland 2" spoilers, based on the working title, the story will follow Lewis Caroll's follow-up where the Mia Wasikowska's character will step through the mirror above her fireplace and into an alternate world.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp was spotted by locals in Gloucester as he is filming scenes for "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass."

Gloucester Citizen even reported that from 10 p.m. of Saturday until Midnight of Monday, the Southgate Moorings car park was closed off probably for production of Johnny Depp's new film. The publication also reported social media postings of Johnny Depp sightings all over Gloucester.
