‘Arrow’ Season 3 Spoilers: Oliver Queen Faces ‘Ruthless Strategist;’ Felicity Smoak Becomes ‘Oracle?’

"Arrow" season 3 spoilers revealed that a master strategist and ruthless opponent will be on hand for Oliver Queen, as Felicity Smoak could become this universe's Oracle, the persona used to be assumed by Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl.

In the "Arrow" season 3 spoilers reported by ScreenRant, the recurring villain Ra's al Ghul is described in the Reddit casting call as "ruthless strategist, a master of martial arts, and a shaper of history."

He is the leader of the League of Assassins and a product of a bygone era, carrying "the wisdom of ages" and protecting "its greatest secrets." The casting call went on to compare the character with Bane from the "Dark Knight Rises" or "someone just terrifying. Not a lunkhead, but a smart and physically imposing man."

"The comparison to Tom Hardy's Bane from The Dark Knight Rises may not help Arrow's case in differentiating itself from Christopher Nolan's Batman films, but the character description should be taken with a grain of salt due to the manner of its release," ScreenRant said.

Meanwhile, iDigital Times teased "Arrow" season 3 spoilers when it theorized that Felicity Smoak could be the alternate Oracle. The producers also revealed a huge Easter egg when they announced that the character's backstory will be titled "Oracle," which is going to be the fifth episode of the third season.

"So Felicity Smoak could be this universe's Oracle as she is a computer whiz with an above average intellect ..." it said. "It would be a way to bring Oracle into the picture while still having Barbara remain Batgirl."

Showrunner Marc Guggenheim already revealed "Arrow" season 3 spoilers to TV Line about focusing on Felicity Smoak's backstory this season.

"We have had a backstory for [Felicity] for over a year now that we keep saying, 'This is the episode where we're going to do it,' and we don't. But this is the year we're going to do it," he said.
