‘Games Of Thrones’ Author George R.R. Martin Refuses To ‘Insert Things’ Merely Because Of Popular Demand; ‘Winds OF Winter’ Release Date Means Tyrion’s Death?

"Games of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin said that he won't insert gratiutous gay sex just because it's the popular demand. Meanwhile, the "Winds of Winter" release date indicates fans are getting closer to knowing about Tyrion's fate.

In an interview with The Guardian, he said that readers of his books know that he writes through the POV of his characters.

"Frankly, it is the way I prefer to write fiction because that is the way all of us experience life. You're seeing me from your viewpoint, you're not seeing what someone over here is seeing," he said.

So because there's no character in "A Song of Fire and Ice" who is gay, so naturally readers can't find any gay sex in the novels.

"A television show doesn't have those limitations. Will that change? It might. I've had letters from fans who want me to present particularly an explicit male sex scene - most of the letters come from women," he revealed.

But he quickly added that he's not going to do it "just for the sake of doing it."

"If the plot lends itself to that, if one of my viewpoint characters is in a situation, then I'm not going to shy away from it, but you can't just insert things because everyone wants to see them," he added, explaining that if it capitulates to pressure then King Joffrey would have died a long time ago.

Does the "Winds of Winter" release means being closer to Tyrion's death? Earlier, author George R.R. Martin revealed some spoilers in a latest interview where he said that the smallest (literally) among the Lannisters is his favorite character.

"I love all my characters, of course, but Tyrion has always been a favorite," the author was quoted by HollywoodLife.

"He is the easiest to write ... The only thing that is hard is that it takes me days and sometimes weeks to come up with the one-liners that Tyrion comes up with in, like, a minute," he said.

It doesn't mean Tyrion's safe if the "Winds of Winter" is for release, however, as author George R. R. Martin revealed that he cut off his nose.
