‘Person Of Interest’ Season 4 Spoilers: Jim Caviezel Faces Unfortunate Events; Characters Deals With Machine That Doesn’t Prioritize Humanity

"Person of Interest" season 4 spoilers revealed that Jim Caviezel's character John Reese will face a series of unfortunate events against the machine that now has humanity the least of its priorities.

Showrunner Greg Plageman dished out "Person of Interest" season 4 spoilers to TVGuide when he said:

"There's a fundamental difference in the way Harold Finch programmed his machine and this machine that Claypoool started and Greer corrupted ... It's not necessarily that we're dealing with an evil machine, it's that we're dealing with one that doesn't have humanity as its priority."

During the San Diego Comic-Con, Jim Caviezel said that Reece as well as the other characters Detective Fusco, Harold Finch and Sameen Shaw are now left to their own devices but they have to find ways to survive.

He described Reece as somebody who's willing to sacrifice his soul by killing bad guys so that others won't have the burden of guilt by getting blood on their hands.

Executive producer Greg Plageman, who attended the same event, revealed more "Person of Interest" season 4 spoilers when he promised a bloodbath.

"This season is about war. It's a battle between two artificial intelligences. The first three seasons of the show dealt with Orwellian surveillance systems, now it's a given," he said.

"The only thing that's different now is there's another machine in charge. And I think all of our guys find themselves severely challenged in terms of communicating and organizing," the showrunner added.

According to Cartermatt, what makes it difficult for Reece and Finch to deal with the machine is the people behind it.

"The thing that you have to remember here is that Samaritan is a machine, and not innately evil in its own right," it stated. "Instead, it is a product of people with evil intentions, and that is what makes it so difficult to sway or understand."
