With first single “Maps” continuing to blow up across the world, Maroon 5 has officially moved on to release their second single from upcoming album “V.” The song, called “Animals,” has also been featured in a new Kia Soul EV Hamster commercial and, for a limited time, is available to download for free!

“Animals,” the latest offering from Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5, follows a similar pop formula as the group’s first single “Maps.” Produced by Benny Bianco and Shellback, the song is sure to be another hit for the “She Will Be Loved” band.

As Music Times describes, “The mid-tempo track kicks off right away with a variety of metaphors to relate the hunt for a relationship and the raw magnetism of sex to the animal kingdom. ‘Baby I'm preying on you tonight / Hunt you down, eat you alive / Just like animals / Maybe you think you can hide / I can't hunt you down for miles / Just like animals, animals, animals,’ Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine sings in the chorus in his signature piercing falsetto.”

Maroon 5 is also officially performing at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles this Sunday. The VMA 2014 performance announcement came just a couple weeks ago from lead singer and “The Voice” judge Adam Levine. The performance will also mark Maroon 5’s first gig ever at the infamous MTV VMA show.

Will Maroon 5 perform their new single at the VMAs? Or their first chart-topping single from upcoming album “V” called “Maps”? Potentially a medley of both hits – now that would undoubtedly make their performance a show-stopper!

Or maybe they’ll premiere a completely new track! According to Music Times, they “are rumored to be debuting the Gwen Stefani-assisted track ‘My Heart Is Open.’”

“Animals” has also been featured in a brand new Kia Soul EV commercial, which also includes the car manufacturer’s famous dancing hamsters.

As ABC News Radio describes, “In the commercial, scientist hamsters in a lab are designing the Soul EV, KIA's first electric car, but the scientists' pet mouse accidentally gets in the way of the high-tech equipment. After everything goes ZAP, we see the mouse has been transformed into a sexy female rodent with a drop-dead body. The scientists immediately jump in the car, head to the pet store, buy a bunch more mice, and then transform them all into sexy females. Then..dance party!”
