MTV reality star Diem Brown's cancer battle has yet again to be won as she was recently diagnosed with colon cancer - her third time to fight the disease.

According to a report published on People magazine, MTV reality star Diem Brown's cancer battle began nine years ago, at age 23, when she was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was cleared of the condition but had a relapse in 2012, which she was able to overcome again.

Brown reportedly collapsed on the set of a new reality show she was filming and was immediately brought to New York, where she had an emergency operation on Sunday.

"Doctors found one tumor blocking her colon completely so they had to do emergency surgery that evening to remove the blockage," said Brown's sister on an interview with People. "They were able to remove the mass, but once they were inside they found out there were multiple tumors."

Brown went on another surgery as the first one caused an infection in her abdomen but is now resting at a New York hospital. She is reportedly in a stable condition.

With regard to MTV reality Diem Brown's cancer, Brown's sister reportedly said that "the surgery was two steps back. But hopefully in the next few weeks she'll be well enough to start chemo."

"She's such a fighter. She's tough as nails. This is the third time she's had to deal with this and she's ready for it. It's definitely an uphill battle, but I know if anybody can do it it's her," continued Brown's sister.

In an interview earlier this month, Brown reportedly said that cancer changed who she is.

"It sounds like a cliché, but I've only got this one life, and I need to live every day to the fulles. I'm a lot more appreciative of things now," the reality star explained.

When the actress found out that she had ovarian cancer for the second time, she penned a blog with People magazine to share her thoughts about her battle. In the 2012 post, she said "hope is one of the strongest emotions and hope can overcome fear and despair."
