Barclays Premier League: Spurs crushed Queens Park Rangers

Tottenham Hotspur crushed Queens Park Rangers by 4-0 score on Sunday. Harry Redknapp savors a bittersweet taste of defeat as he returned to White Hart Lane.

Reminiscing, Redknapp was released by the Spurs back in 2012 despite leading the club to three consecutive top-five finishes in the Barclays Premier League. Earlier than victory upon promotion from the Championship with QPR last term, his ex employers were not so hospitable on the comeback of the 60 plus year old to north London.

QPR were openhandedly giving the hosts far too much space to win. Mauricio Pochettino's men could have been further in front two minutes later had Adebayor capped off a swift counter-attacking move with a better finish.

It has forming into clarity that QPR would need the best effort to grab opportunities and to make sure no more chances will fall on their way anymore. However, when Matt Phillips hack inside Younes Kaboul in the penalty area after meeting a long-range pass, he blew his effort over the crossbar.

Chadli made his tally a twin after seven minutes, securing a header into the bottom-left corner from a chipped Lamela cross after a rampant Spurs had strung together 48 passes in the build-up incredibly and amazingly.

Tottenham's old boy Steven Caulker got an odd sight of goal for QPR shortly after the recess. Yet, he placed his header a yard wide of the right-hand post from a corner. Sooner than Adebayor slid the ball past Green for a fourth after being teed up by Danny Rose.

Rose almost gave QPR a helpful hand nine minutes from the clock when he sidetracked the ball into his own net, but the official referee disallowed the goal for an infringement on the full-back, leaving the visitors to ponder a gloomy performance.
